We would like to share with you that on July 31, 2017, the Communities of Hoover and Eutaw, Alabama met in the morning to thank and wish a farewell to Fr. Felicitas Almanza, after 14 years of generous ministry in these lands of the South.

The celebration was at 11:00 at the facilities of “La Casita” where Sister Felicitas worked for some years. Father Raul Bedoya celebrated the Eucharist. We were also accompanied by several people with whom Fely worked in the Parish of San Pedro in Hoover and some volunteers of La Casita.

Mr. Al Manzella, Director of Social Services in the Diocese, was present. Sisters Josefina Garcia and Obdulia Olivar came from Brandon, Mississippi, the Saravia Family who supported with the choir. The food was delicious thanks to Magda and some volunteer ladies and with a delicious finale… a cake made by Melchor.

Now Sister Felicitas prepares for her new mission, and we remember the missionary words of Father Felix: BEING MISSIONARY IS: to leave, to leave, to cross the sea, to forget things, to remember names…

Best wishes to you Sister Felicitas on your new mission!
